Terrazzo cement tile
Terrazzo tiles have a long history. It originated in ancient Egypt, where it was used to create mosaics. Later in the 18th Century, the material was used in Italy, then made its way to the U.S. in the late 1890s. It achieved popularity in that country with Art Deco and Moderne styles from the 1920s to the 1940s and is currently experiencing a new wave of popularity.
