Step 1: Prepare the Site, Tools, and Materials
- Site conditions: Must be flat, clean, and safe.
- Required tools: Trowel, mortar tray, water bucket, string line, gloves, measuring stick.
- Construction materials: Mortar, Viettiles breeze blocks, and steel rods for anchoring.
Viettiles breeze blocks are unbaked, handcrafted products made with high precision — therefore, it’s essential to properly prepare the surface to ensure adhesion and long-term durability.

Step 2: Install the Breeze Blocks
1. Soak the blocks before installation
The blocks should be soaked in clean water to become fully saturated. This prevents them from absorbing moisture from the mortar, which could reduce adhesion.
2. Lay the blocks using the traditional method
Breeze blocks are laid similarly to hollow clay bricks (4 or 6 holes), with mortar joints about 1–2 cm thick.
3. Embed steel bars into the mortar joints – a highlight of Viettiles
After every 4–5 rows, steel bars should be inserted into the grooves between the blocks to enhance the connection between individual blocks and between the wall and structural frame — ensuring stability.
Effective methods of inserting steel rods:
• From bottom up
• From top down
• From the horizontal sides
• Through the center of the block
This solution enhances the structural strength and safety of the breeze block wall, especially in large-scale constructions or walls over 3 meters high.

4. Reinforce with beams and columns if needed
• For walls over 3 meters high: Add horizontal support beams.
• For walls over 6 meters long: Divide the span using load-bearing concrete columns to maintain stability.
5. Smooth the mortar joints for a clean finish
Use a soft, small trowel to smooth the mortar joints on both sides of the wall, giving it a neat, clean, and uniform appearance.
Step 3: Curing the Wall After Installation
Spray water to maintain moisture twice a day (morning and afternoon) for 7 consecutive days.
After 7 days, you can proceed with finishing steps such as painting or waterproofing, depending on aesthetic requirements.
